Software:
The assessment component consists of six
modules:
1.
Memory Navigation
2.
Memory Recall
3.
Memory Recognition
4.
Attention Deficit
5.
Spatial Awareness
6.
Visual-Kinesthetic Integration
Data
gathered via the assessment modules is analyzed and presented in a report with
a diagnosis of the neurological deficiencies in the areas of memory, attention
deficit, spatial awareness and visual-kinesthetic integration. The assessment modules are available for commercial
utilization in clinical settings and for other areas of research.
The rehabilitation modules are based on the
six assessment modules and introduce new elements to assist the patient in
regaining neurological function lost due an injury or an illness. The rehabilitation modules will be released
in the market in 2009.
Hardware
component:
The software modules are
programmed to function in a Virtual Reality laboratory, utilizing stereo sound
and 3D graphical imaging. The Head Rehab
software system is compatible with existing modern Virtual Reality laboratories
found in clinical and research settings.
Some hardware upgrades may be required to create optimal interaction for
the patient. Head Rehab can also arrange
for a customized Virtual Reality laboratory to be installed at the client’s
site. Compatible interactive devices,
motion tracking and alternative data gathering devices are also available with
the system.
As an alternative, the
software modules are also programmed to function on the standard PCs, optimal in
clinical settings where the patient flow and restricted physical space have an
impact. The quality of gathered data is
consistent with that of a Virtual Reality laboratory, although the patient does
not experience the full immersion of the interactive Virtual Reality
environment.
