How strong is the athlete’s Memory?
Is the soldier aware of the battlefield around him?
Is there an opportunity to enhance the subject’s Memory Performance?
Has the last week of practice improved the athlete’s Memory Performance?

Memory is critical to every aspect of life, from the daily routine to top athletic performance. HeadRehab offers means of testing and tracking Memory Performance.

Performance Tracking:
Evaluate a subject’s Memory Performance with the HeadRehab Memory Performance Modules. The software captures data on a subject’s Memory accuracy, Spatial Navigation abilities, Reaction Time and Recall & Recognition skills during a series of Memory Performance tasks performed in a virtual environment. This data can be a snapshot of Memory Performance on a particular day or gathered regularly to build a comprehensive look at a subject’s Memory Performance over a period of time.

Areas of Memory Tested:
  • Spatial Navigation is one’s understanding of their current physical environment and their orientation within that environment or their ‘spatial awareness’. A normally functioning spatial memory allows the subject the capability of creating a ‘cognitive map’ for navigation in both new and previously experienced spatial environments and to recall and recognize components within that environment.
  • Recognition
  • Recall
Test Outline:
The subject is placed within a Virtual Reality environment and asked to complete a series of Memory tasks including navigation and object recognition. The user administers the test by initiating the program and the software then the presents the Memory tasks to the user and captures response data. There are four (4) different Memory Performance tests lasting up to 20 minutes.

Portions of the HeadRehab Memory Performance Modules can be utilized within an fMRI to simultaneously capture imaging data and Memory Performance data.

Results:
Following successful completion of the tests, the software generates a relative score of Memory Performance. These Memory Performance scores can be compared to the results of other team members or test subjects and can also be compared to the individual’s own Memory Performance over time.

Results include Memory deficit identification and measurement.
  • Evaluate Memory Performance against multiple challenges with varying levels of complexity.
  • Detect abnormalities in Memory Performance that often pass undetected in standard cognitive and physical tests.
  • See a complete report of the athlete’s Memory Performance instantly with the HeadRehab Reporting module.
  • The Memory Performance results can be combined with other HeadRehab Performance test results to build a Comprehensive Report of the subject’s Neurocognitive Performance.

Who can administer the Memory Performance test?
HeadRehab’s user-friendly software menus make the Performance software easy to use. The tests can be administered by anyone with a basic knowledge of computers. Onscreen instructions and User Manuals are included with the software for quick reference. HeadRehab also offers training on using the software.
